Outdoor Kitchen Buying Guide

An outdoor kitchen lives outside year-round — every material choice has to survive rain, UV and temperature swings the indoor version never sees.

What to look for
01
Cabinet material Marine-grade stainless steel or HDPE panel cabinetry resists moisture ingress; untreated wood cabinetry swells and delaminates within a wet season.
02
Countertop material Sintered stone and granite are outdoor-rated and stain/heat resistant; laminate and standard concrete are not — confirm the rating before ordering.
03
Appliance integration Grill, side burner and fridge cutouts need exact clearances from the appliance spec sheet — get the appliance model before the cabinet drawing is finalized.
04
Ventilation Enclosed cabinets housing a grill need vented panels — trapped heat degrades seals and shortens appliance life.
05
Modular vs. built-in Modular kitchens ship and install faster and can be reconfigured later; built-in kitchens integrate tighter with existing hardscape but commit to one layout.
→ PalmaYard tip — Order appliances and cabinetry from a single coordinated source — mismatched cutout tolerances are the #1 install-day problem we see.
