Restaurant Patio Furniture Guide

Patio furniture at a restaurant gets a different life than furniture at a home — daily stacking, nightly wipe-downs, and years of turnover.

What to look for
01
Contract-grade rating Contract/BIFMA-rated furniture is tested for repeated commercial use; residential-grade pieces are not built for daily stacking and moving.
02
Stackability Stackable chairs cut nightly storage time and space — confirm stack height and cart compatibility before ordering at volume.
03
Cleanability Wipeable synthetic fabrics and sealed-foam cushions handle nightly sanitizing; open-cell foam without a sealed cover absorbs odor and spills.
04
Cover programs A shade or cover plan (umbrella, cantilever, retractable awning) extends usable patio hours and protects the furniture investment.
05
Turnover-driven spacing Table footprint and aisle clearance should be planned around your target covers-per-turn, not just what fits visually.
→ PalmaYard tip — Order 10% spare chairs and cushion covers with the initial container — replacing a handful of damaged pieces later means re-matching a dye lot.
